Reflection

The ethnic and cultural pull of my Mennonite background is very strong in my life. The biggest impact was our beliefs of our faith and how these threads raveled through all areas of my life. Also how people viewed me as an epileptic child in a society that still saw me as many do about the disabled still today as lacking the qualities to contribute to society.

Reflecting over how these rubrics guided my life, my thoughts; I know how important it is to surrender to the ideas of lack to deserving and incapable to empowered. The journey of forgiveness and love for myself and others has brought me here to discover I have the answers inside of me. These factors that nurtured me definitely changed my character and what I expected out of life for myself and yet I have come out on the other side stronger.
