Contributor‑Facing Checklist for preparing a Legacy Capsule in EPUB/Kindle format

From Manuscript to EPUB & Kindle with Kalina Media


 Step 1: Prepare Your Manuscript

  • ☐ Write or gather your stories, affirmations, and visuals.

  • ☐ Save in Word, Google Docs, or plain text.

  • ☐ Keep formatting clean (consistent headings, spacing, styles).


 Step 2: Edit & Format

  • ☐ Add front matter (title page, dedication, acknowledgments).

  • ☐ Add back matter (about the author, contact info, ceremonial CTA).

 Step 3: Convert to EPUB

  • ☐ Use Calibre, Sigil, or Reedsy Book Editor to export as EPUB.

  • ☐ Test EPUB on Apple Books, Kobo, or Google Play Books.


 Step 4: Convert for Kindle

  • ☐ Use Kindle Previewer (Amazon free tool) to convert EPUB → KPF/MOBI.

  • ☐ Test on Kindle devices/apps for proper formatting.

  • ☐ Adjust fonts, margins, and images if needed.


 Step 5: Publish & Distribute

  • ☐ Upload EPUB to wide distributors (Kobo, Apple Books, Google Play).

  • ☐ Upload Kindle file to Amazon KDP.

  • ☐ Share your ceremonial edition through KalinaMedia.ca and social media.
